Livelihood Largely dependent on fishing and agriculture all of which have suffered serious set-back due to insecurity and banditry.

Located in the Northwestern Nigeria, Kebbi State shares boarders with Sokoto, Zamfara and Niger states to the east, north and south respectively. The state is flanked to the west by Benin and Niger Republic.

Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu)

Dr. Nasir Idris (Kauran Gwandu) was sworn in as the executive he Executive Governor of Kebbi State on 29th May, 2023.

His zeal for a well discipline and religious society, were law and order rain supreme, led to the upgrade of the Department of Religious Affairs to the Ministry for Religious Affairs. The ministry was charged with the responsibility of advising and guiding the executive and to, in liaison with the state council of ulama, superintend over religious matters in the state on his behalf.

THE MINISTRY

The ministry started as a Department of Religious Affairs under the office of the Secretary to the State Government during Governor Muhammadu Adamu Aliero in 2001. Sheikh Umar Isa Magaji was appointed as the first Special Adviser and he served for **** years. Governor Alh. Sa’idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari appointed Mal. Umar Aljannare, Alh. Abdullahi Shema and Khadi M. Yeldu as advisers in 2007, 2011 and 2013 respectively.
